Adhesive labels are the most widespread types of this group, known through the retail trade, where they can be easily applied to paper, cardboard or plastic and hold securely. However, the conditions are different for metal: structured surfaces, dirt or liquids on the surfaces make adhesion difficult. Requirements such as easy and residue-free removal or prohibited substances such as silicone pose additional challenges.
